Height tracking on Android

A height tracker that treats your data with respect

GrowTall turns simple height measurements into a reliable longitudinal record — with guided protocols, WHO and CDC context, growth velocity and zero ads.

✦ Short answer

GrowTall is a free Android height tracker that records measurements in centimeters or feet-and-inches, plots them on WHO and CDC growth curves, computes growth velocity, and keeps every entry stored locally on your device.

What a height tracker should actually do

Most height apps stop at saving a number. A useful height tracker treats each measurement as one point on a longer story — and makes the next measurement easier to take correctly.

  • Accurate entry — metric and imperial units, decimal precision, and optional weight for BMI context.
  • Protocol guidance — age-appropriate instructions so standing height and infant length are each recorded the right way.
  • Context, not just numbers — WHO and CDC reference curves, height percentiles and growth velocity computed automatically.
  • A real history — every past measurement stays comparable, with morning/evening tags and notes.
  • Gentle consistency — optional reminders every 60–90 days, the cadence pediatric growth monitoring actually needs.

Guided measurement, every time

GrowTall changes its guidance based on the profile's age. Children aged two and up follow the standing stadiometer protocol — barefoot, flat wall, level gaze, flat headpiece. Infants under two follow the recumbent-length protocol on a firm surface, measured crown to heel.

Each record can be tagged with the time of day, because height naturally varies by about 1–1.5 cm between morning and evening. Consistent conditions are what turn measurements into a trend.

Why cadence matters: skeletal growth is slow — a few centimeters per year. Measuring every 60–90 days captures real change; measuring daily mostly captures posture and spinal-fluid noise.

Built-in growth context

Every measurement is plotted against established references: WHO Child Growth Standards from birth to age 2, and CDC 2000 reference curves from ages 2 to 20. GrowTall computes the current height percentile and growth velocity in centimeters per year, and shows the trend across your last measurements.

For families, each profile keeps its own history, reminders, habits and insights — no mixing. When a profile passes the age where pediatric references apply, GrowTall switches it to adult tracking mode automatically.

Private by default

Measurements, notes and habit logs are stored locally on your Android device. GrowTall shows no ads, does not sell health data, and its optional analytics cover coarse reliability events only — never your entered heights or notes. See how the science works or read about height percentiles.

Common questions

Is GrowTall free?

Yes. Height and weight tracking, WHO/CDC growth curves, percentiles, growth history, habit logging, insights and family profiles are free. GrowTall Plus is an optional subscription that adds estimates, summaries, reminders and more.

Does GrowTall work for infants?

Yes. Under age 2, GrowTall switches to the recumbent-length protocol and WHO Child Growth Standards, so infant length is recorded and interpreted correctly.

Do I need an account?

No. GrowTall works entirely on device with no sign-up. Your profiles and measurements live in local storage on your phone.

Can I track more than one child?

Yes — family profiles keep separate histories, reminders, habits and insights for each person, and adult profiles transition to tracking mode automatically.
